The common practice of policy-making without the involvement from the users has lead to the design and spatial planning of transportation systems that are always at risk for being not fully utilized. Planners usually utilises an assumption of a ‘generalised’ preferences among users and thus, distance and time are usually the only influences in the design. While these ‘generalised’ preferences do work to a certain degree in the driving and walking community, it might not work well in the cycling community. There are far more diversity in the preferences when cycling are involved, be it for recreational or transportation purposes.

So... What if there is more diversity of experiences/ preferences taken into consideration in the design of cycling infrastructures? Will this attract more people to cycle?
